The author of Our Class is a Family is a second-grade teacher。 I'm a second-grade teacher and my class loved the book this school year。 This became our motto, in that our class is a family and that we are accepting of one another。 This cute book gets the message across that each person is important and loved。 We always try to "Stay Kind" and make our classroom a fun and safe place。 The illustrations are bright and friendly。 I will keep using this book every year and read it on the first day of s The author of Our Class is a Family is a second-grade teacher。 I'm a second-grade teacher and my class loved the book this school year。 This became our motto, in that our class is a family and that we are accepting of one another。 This cute book gets the message across that each person is important and loved。 We always try to "Stay Kind" and make our classroom a fun and safe place。 The illustrations are bright and friendly。 I will keep using this book every year and read it on the first day of school。 I loved the feeling we had in my classroom and I hope to recreate it again next year。 。。。more

I am in love with this book! Super awesome lessons and choices being taught to children。 this books brings a heartfelt message on how to strengthen your community and classroom。 No matter who you are, where you are from, or where you want to go- you are important。 I love the color palette and illustrations, very whimsical。 I want this book in my future classroom。

As an educator the idea of a school/classroom family is something I am always trying to instill within my students。 This book did an excellent job of expressing that idea in a way that children can understand。 I can't wait to read this to them! This book is super cute and I found it looking for newer picture books。 It is a great book to start of the year and building up a good classroom environment right away。

I love this! What a great message。After 20 years of Special Ed。 teaching, for the first time in my life, I’m becoming a 2nd grade self-contained teacher! I feel so lucky to find this book。 I’m sure my future kids will love it!

Great book about how as a class you need to come together and be there for one another similar to how a family is always there。 Each person is different but they still need to feel support from those around them and how they might need you one day but then you might need them the next day。 Great illustrations that show all of the different students that are in a classroom and what they might enjoy during the school day。

I liked this book a lot。 I truly think as teachers we all want our classrooms to be a safe and loving environment between everyone。 This book will help strengthen the class as a whole and let them know that it a safe place for them to let loose and be themselves。

I really love this book and the message it gives。 By showing that a classroom should a safe space full of love and acceptance, it shows that a classroom should be a family。 This would be a book I would read during the first week of school to let students know that my goal for the classroom is to build a family。 I also love the illustrations and how it highlights the importance of appreciating those around you。

A book great for the beginning of class in order to start off great expectations that are expected in the class。 This book is all about coming together and building a strong community as a class。

This book was absolutely amazing, I loved every aspect of it。 I loved how it started off by talking about how different people see family because not every family looks the same。 this was a great way to start the story because it instantly begins to include and attract multiple different readers。 It then goes into explaining how for kids their class is also their family。 Kids spend the majority or their days and their time in school and in the classroom; they begin to form bonds and make connect This book was absolutely amazing, I loved every aspect of it。 I loved how it started off by talking about how different people see family because not every family looks the same。 this was a great way to start the story because it instantly begins to include and attract multiple different readers。 It then goes into explaining how for kids their class is also their family。 Kids spend the majority or their days and their time in school and in the classroom; they begin to form bonds and make connections with their classmates。 A kids class really is their family and they do so much for each other。 There is this one line in the story that I really love, it says, "And as long as you're a friend to others, your peers will be there too。" I love this part so much because it is so true; your full fledge family is always there for you, but your class kind of has to learn to be family。 So when you are there for your friends they will also be there for you too。 Such a great read aloud for a class!! It has some great moments and is great inclusive story。 。。。more

This book really touched my heart! This book is another great book for the first week of class! It explains how children spend plenty of time at school so they should treat their class like their family。 Reading this book the first week can give students an opportunity to get closer as a class。

Our Class Is A Family is a must-have for a kid’s bookshelf and a classroom library, especially when school is back in session。 I loved the parallel drawn between a family and classroom。 I like how it points out different groups of people can be a family for different reasons。Kids do spend a lot of time at school (depending on where you live) with almost the same group of kids for several years。 Our families impact us as much as our classroom and classmates impact us。I also appreciate the emphasi Our Class Is A Family is a must-have for a kid’s bookshelf and a classroom library, especially when school is back in session。 I loved the parallel drawn between a family and classroom。 I like how it points out different groups of people can be a family for different reasons。Kids do spend a lot of time at school (depending on where you live) with almost the same group of kids for several years。 Our families impact us as much as our classroom and classmates impact us。I also appreciate the emphasis on the critical role teachers play in our lives beyond teaching。 It illustrates the impact the classroom has on a child’s development。 The classroom is a family that lifts each other up, where it’s okay to make mistakes, where similarities are shared, differences celebrated, and so much more。Beautifully illustrated, Our Class Is A Family is a fantastic story with a great message。 For sure, a must read。 。。。more

Cute book about how classmates and teachers can become our family。 This idea makes it a place where everyone can be themselves, make mistakes, and learn together。 Great first day of school book for setting a precedent。

I love this book! It goes through possible types of families, including blended families, and explains that family can sometimes be a group of people you care about that care about you, like what you experience in an elementary classroom。 It goes through concepts like supporting people around you, kindness, and having a place to call home when you are struggling。 The illustrations are simple and straightforward。 The wording is very simplistic。 It's just a good story about building a community ar I love this book! I really enjoyed reading this book。 I would read this book to my students at the beginning of the year to help set the dynamic of my classroom。 This would help students feel comfortable in the classroom。 It also shows students that are struggling at home, that they have support in the classroom。
